Can government create wealth?

wealth creation
Marxist President Obama asked:

To me wealth creation is a man taking a lump of iron ore that costs $1, adds a few other metals for another $1 pays for $1 worth of labor and creates a slab of steel that is worth $5.
Does government do anything like that or do they just tax this man on his $2 profit and try to redistribute his wealth?

The Federal Reserve helps banks create wealth. The Federal Reserve sets the prime interest rate and they loan money to banks at the prime interest rate. Banks then loan out their money at prime +, thus when you pay back your loan the bank you borrowed from makes a profit. Wealth is created.

Wow that was deep. No what the govt. does is give people a chance to capitalize through free enterprise. It is called capitalism. You can not lend money without expecting things in return. Profit is made through interest.

If you think about it, the people are the government. The governmental system itself is so corrupt, the system will create wealth then snatch it back as in your last scenario. After the govermental system snatch the money from the little man, they increase their salary to themselves. Sad, but true. That is why we pray for a govermental system.

Well the way I see it is the WORKING PEOPLE , keep the people who do not want to work that is how I see Obama spreading the WEALTH, but I hope he uses some of his own money to do that

I think I should point out that the men who actually do that are hourly employees who see very little of the profits.
